Utah Avalanche has a rich history in youth soccer and as we look to play our part in growing the greatest sport in the world a natural step was for us to form a team for women to continue to play the sport at a high level. The season is short, running from June through July and we are excited to see some of our Alumni out there competing in an Avalanche jersey once more.

Founded in 1998, the Women’s Premier Soccer League is the longest active women’s soccer league in the United States. The WPSL has grown at an average of 12% over its 24-season history – a consistent trend rarely achieved in team sports that also makes it the largest women’s soccer league in the world.

The WPSL strives to provide the highest level of developmental opportunities for amateur players and team rosters consist of highly skilled female players from collegiate, post-collegiate, international, and stand-out prep athletes. Nearly 70% of WPSL players are current student-athletes at all prestigious division levels.

The WPSL’s national footprint stretches from coast-to-coast with a league all-time high of 141 active teams in 32 of the 50 states and has teams occupying 19 of the 20 largest metropolitan areas in the United States. The WPSL also has Canadian clubs based in Vancouver.
Our first coach for the WPSL is Trevor Wachsman who brings a wealth of knowledge with him after spending many years as the Associate Head Coach at Utah State University.

Trevor can be reached at or at 435-770-8611

The WPSL is an excellent opportunity for Utah Avalanche to continue our tradition of excellence and further our club goals of offering the highest level of competition possible to our current and future players.
